Heroes, zeros and the full blitz from the Giants’ 26-18 loss to the Steelers on “Monday Night Football”:
Hero
Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson, maligned in the past couple of seasons, completed 20 of 28 passes for 278 yards with a TD and no INTs.
Wilson won his second consecutive game after being controversially inserted into the lineup, and head coach Mike Tomlin’s decision looks like a good one.
Unsung hero
Steelers edge rusher T.J. Watt was neutralized in the first half, but he was relentless and finally earned his keep in the second half with two sacks, the second of which was a strip-sack of Daniel Jones, which Watt recovered to help seal the win for Pittsburgh.
Zero
Deonte Banks, the Giants 2023 first-round draft pick, was benched in the second half after allowing too many big plays to Steelers receiver George Pickens.
Banks’ effort has been called into question in a couple games this season.
Key stat
11-for-65: Those were the Giants penalty numbers and they set them back significantly.
