Scoop director Philip Martin has revealed the unique complications of casting actors to play real-life people in his new film telling the story of Prince Andrew’s infamous Newsnight interview.
The new Netflix film tells the story of how producer Sam McAlister booked the prince onto the programme with Emily Maitlis (played by Gillian Anderson) and the aftermath that unfolded.
«Actors are always hungry for research, information, hungry to meet real people who are involved in the story and… to get their heads around the world of the story, the world of Buckingham Palace, the world of the BBC and the world of these characters,» Martin told The Independent.
Scoop will be released on 5 April.
