Teams and players to watch in the cards and fouls markets
Brighton vs Tottenham
The Seagulls entertain Spurs at the Amex Stadium on Sunday in an intriguing contest between two of the most entertaining sides in the top flight.
We are expecting to see a high number of cautions with David Coote in charge. He averaged 5.2 cards per game last season.
In Tottenham’s previous Premier League fixture, at Manchester United, there were eight yellows – including two for the hosts’ Bruno Fernandes, who was sent off in the 42nd minute. In Brighton’s game at Chelsea, five cautions were issued.
Bet: Over 5.5 cards @ 5/6 with bet365
Lewis Dunk
Both these teams play a remarkably high line, which can often lead opponents to use their pace to get in behind defenders.
Brighton are sure to stick to pushing well up the pitch, and that could offer space for tricky Spurs players Brennan Johnson and Dejan Kulusevski to exploit.
Lewis Dunk has already been booked twice this season, and we are backing the Seagulls’ last line of defence to get another caution.
Bet: Lewis Dunk to be carded @ 6/1 with bet365
Teams and players to avoid in the cards and fouls markets
Arsenal vs Southampton
The Gunners welcome the Saints to the Emirates on Saturday for a clash between title chasers and relegation prospects respectively.
Arsenal picked up just two cards in their midweek Champions League home game against PSG on Tuesday and we are expecting a similarly modest count this time.
Referee Tony Harrington averaged just 3.7 cards per match last season, one of the lowest, and we think he will look to keep it that way this weekend.
Bet: Under 3.5 cards @ 1/1 with bet365

Weekend’s best bet
Our punt comes from the match at the Amex, where we are opting for Brighton’s Dunk and Tottenham’s Rodrigo Bentancur to be carded in a double.
As already mentioned, Dunk is the hosts’ outfield kingpin at the back, and he will be up against a very pacy and energetic Spurs front line.
Midfielder Bentancur has already been booked three times in five Premier League appearances this season, and looks a strong candidate for a fourth.
Given that man-in-the-middle Coote is not shy about issuing cautions, and in a game where we are expecting up to seven or eight cards, it is worth betting on two of the more likely recipients.
Best bet: Lewis Dunk and Rodrigo Bentancur to be carded @ 25/1 with bet365
