The journey of Stranger Things is nearing its conclusion.
Netflix has officially announced that production has wrapped on the fifth and final season of the beloved series. While a specific release date hasn’t been shared yet, fans can expect the highly anticipated finale to arrive in 2025.
“That’s a wrap on Stranger Things,” Netflix shared on X alongside behind-the-scenes photos, adding, “See you in 2025.”
The entire core cast returns for Season 5, including Winona Ryder (Joyce Byers), David Harbour (Jim Hopper), Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven), Finn Wolfhard (Mike Wheeler), Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin Henderson), Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas Sinclair), Noah Schnapp (Will Byers), Joe Keery (Steve Harrington), Sadie Sink (Max Mayfield), Natalia Dyer (Nancy Wheeler), Charlie Heaton (Jonathan Byers), Maya Hawke (Robin Buckley), Brett Gelman (Murray Bauman), Priah Ferguson (Erica Sinclair), and Jamie Campbell Bower (Vecna).
In addition, Terminator legend Linda Hamilton joins the cast in a mysterious new role.
Season 4 of Stranger Things debuted in the summer of 2022, split into two parts released in May and July. The episodes were notably longer, with each running over an hour, and the finale of Part 2 exceeding two hours.
The season culminated in an intense showdown against Vecna and the Demogorgons in the Upside Down. In a heartbreaking twist, fan-favorite Eddie Munson (played by Joseph Quinn) heroically sacrificed himself to protect the group. Although Vecna was weakened by the battle, he retained enough power to begin merging the Upside Down with Hawkins.
While the main characters survived the ordeal, Max was left in a coma after Vecna took control of her body.
