A bargain hunter’s dream came true when he snapped up a free yacht from Facebook marketplace.
The YouTuber, who runs the channel ‘Rebuild Rescue’, was stunned when he spotted the incredible offer online.
According to the Facebook ad, whoever arrived first could take the boat – sending the bargain hunter on a race against time.
In a resurfaced video, the host of the channel said: ‘We’re going to go check out a free abandoned boat.’
‘This morning I’m drinking my cup of coffee flipping through Facebook Marketplace and I see an ad for a free boat,’ he explained.
He learned that the boat had been abandoned for 15 years.
‘I call the guy up and I’m like «hey you know I see you have this free boat, tell me the story» and he’s like «it’s been sitting here for 15 years … and I’m tired of looking at it – it’s been abandoned.»‘

‘The first person here gets it – so I’m kind of looking at the picture … it looks like a pretty big boat so we’re rushing over to my shop I’m going to go.’
But what he thought would be a simple boat rescue turned into something much bigger.
Upon arriving at the boatyard, the YouTuber’s jaw dropped when he realized he’d hit the jackpot.
It wasn’t just any boat, but a full-sized Cruisers Yacht.
The interior was showing signs of damage. He spotted mold and the engine bay needed serious attention – but that didn’t deter the bargain hunter.

Some users weren’t as thrilled about the find.
‘As a doctor that see cases of mold-related health issues, I strongly recommend you wear a N95 mask when getting into these kinds of places,’ one wrote.
Boats can very effectively hide massive issues they have,’ another commented. ‘If it’s been sitting there could be moisture in the stringers in which case the boat is basically worthless. It wouldn’t necessarily sink, it just wouldn’t be worth fixing.’
But others called it the find of a lifetime.
‘As a retired Marine Master Technician and lifelong avid boating enthusiast I would be all over that boat.’
‘It’s likely been abandoned because it’s a expensive craft to moor and maintain but it’s an easy 5 figure freebee if you can get it operational. Fantastic find.’
