Steve Sarkisian was not messing around on Saturday night.

At least for a short period.

After a brutal start from quarterback Quinn Ewers, top-ranked Texas turned the reins over to Arch Manning in the second quarter against No. 5 Georgia.

Ewers, a likely top-five draft pick in April, could not get anything going early against the Bulldogs, completing 6 of 12 passes for a measly 17 yards with one interception and a fumble.

With just under five minutes left in the first half, Texas inserted Manning, who had previously started in Ewers’ stead this season while the starter was dealing with an oblique strain.

Manning, on his first drive against Georgia, completed 1 of 4 passes for eight yards.

However, by the time the second half started, Texas recovered an onside kick and Ewers was back under center.
