The KAT’s meow? Pacers fan trolls Karl-Anthony Towns by making feline noises with Knicks star at foul line

An Indiana Pacers fan brutally trolled New York Knicks star Karl-Anthony Towns during a free-throw attempt by meowing from behind the basket, with the audio being picked up on TNT’s broadcast.

The noise being directed at Towns comes from the acronym of the center’s first and last name – KAT.

The audio can be heard as Towns attempts the first half of two free throws with the Knicks down nine to Indiana.

Right before, Towns releases the ball at the rim, the ‘meow’ works its way onto the TNT broadcast.

Towns’ free throw hits the back rim and misses to the absolute delight of the home crowd.

Despite Towns 24 points and 12 rebounds, with a 7-for-9 clip from the free-throw line, the Knicks lost to the Pacers 130-121 to put the team on the brink of playoff elimination.

The Pacers held the lead from late in the second quarter on, with each New York attempt to regain the momentum necessary to tie the series headed back to Manhattan quelled.

Tyrese Haliburton was nearly unstoppable throughout the game for the Pacers, as he finished with 32 points, 15 assists, and 12 rebounds. The guard also had zero turnovers in the win.

The Knicks now must win their next three games, including Game 5 at Madison Square Garden on Thursday.

New York has not won a home playoff game since eliminating the Boston Celtics earlier this month and will have to take down the Pacers twice in Manhattan over the coming days to keep their season alive.

The Pacers are now also one game away from making their first NBA Finals since 2000, and their second overall.

Jalen Brunson could not take over the game late but did finish Game 4 with 31 points. For the Pacers, Pascal Siakam was dynamite again and brought Indiana to the doorstep of an Eastern Conference title with 30 points.

Towns likely will not hear any meows once the series heads back to New York.
