A Disney World guest has revealed the surprising secret behind why you rarely see mosquitoes at the Orlando, Florida, theme park.
In a now-viral TikTok video, posted by the user @disney_dad1, the unnamed guest detailed the alleged clever tricks that Disney uses to keep bugs at bay, despite the park being built on swampy land.
‘You’re in central Florida … swamps, humidity, it should be a mosquito paradise,’ the TikToker explained.
‘But somehow, there’s nothing buzzing in your ears. So here’s the secret … and it’s honestly kind of genius.
‘When Walt was designing Disney World, he hired an actual entomologist… a bug expert.
‘His job? Figure out how to keep mosquitoes away without ruining the experience for guests, and it worked.’
The TikToker then explained the three key strategies that Disney allegedly uses to ensure guests are never getting bit up at the Most Magical Place on Earth.
‘First, Disney doesn’t let water sit still. No standing puddles. Everything drains fast. Fountains flow constantly. Even decorative moats have circulation,’ they shared.

‘No still water means no mosquito breeding grounds.’
Secondly, the narrator claimed that the staff lightly sprays a garlic-based repellent around the parks.
‘You don’t smell it, but mosquitoes hate it,’ he explained.
‘It’s non-toxic, safe for guests, but enough to keep bugs away.’
Lastly, to help keep the park mosquito-free, the TikToker said that Disney relies on natural predators like dragonflies, birds, and even bats that come out at night.
‘Disney basically created a little ecosystem where mosquitoes lose every time. And the wildest part? It’s all designed to be invisible,’ he revealed.
‘Just like the trash tunnels and the background music, the bug control blends into the magic.’
On its website, Disney shares very little about how it keeps mosquitos at bay, simply writing in its FAQ section, ‘We have an extensive mosquito prevention and monitoring program across property.’

The Daily Mail has reached out to Disney for comment.
People in the comment section of the video were shocked to learn about Disney’s imaginative solutions.
‘That was more interesting than I thought,’ one person wrote.
‘That is why it’s the greatest place on earth,’ another shared.
A different parkgoer observed: ‘Come to think of it, I don’t think I’ve ever seen all that many insects of any kind there.’
‘Disney World is “genius” at everything. That’s what separates them from all the others. Their attention to detail is incredible!’ someone else said.
‘Disney is AMAZING,’ one person simply stated.
However, one Disney fan said the solutions didn’t work on them.
‘I’ve been bitten by mosquitoes at WDW almost every time I go,’ they revealed.
