Dozens of Australians have admitted to a ‘disgusting’ bathroom habit many have dubbed as ‘gross’.
A debate about showering sparked on Reddit – with many admitting they only shower in the morning before work rather than in the evening.
‘As an East Asian immigrant here, I ALWAYS shower in the evening before going to bed. It feels easier to fall asleep with a clean body and also more convenient for sex,’ a baffled Redditor said.
‘I was told Australians prefer to have shower in the morning after getting up. If it’s true, will you shower again in the evening?’
Several shared their reasoning for showering before work – mostly to rid their body of night sweats and wanting to feel fresh.

‘I shower in the morning for work, and sometimes in the evening – like if I feel dirty, am going out or have been at the gym,’ one wrote.
‘I have pretty bad night sweats, so I shower in the morning. I’ll also shower a second time in the afternoon after work, or if I feel like I need to,’ another said.
‘I shower in the morning, and sometimes after I get home from work. My household splits it 50/50 between morning and night showers though because otherwise it would be impossible for everyone to get out the door in the morning,’ a third added.
Another said they were surprised by how many people turned up to work without showering beforehand.
‘They smell and it gets worse throughout the day. Awful in an indoor office environment,’ they wrote.
Others who commented on the Reddit thread said they prefer showing after work or both in the morning and evening (stock image)

‘I always shower in the evening before bed. If it’s summer, then I’ll shower as soon as I get home from work as well. My bed should always be nice and clean,’ one wrote.
‘Rinse in the morning to wake up and get rid of the bed hair. Thorough shower ASAP after work as a tradie,’ another said.
It’s always been evenings for me, but I’m not a morning person generally. Feels like the best way to wind down at the tail end of the day, wash away the stress, and then get cosy and relax before bed,’ a third wrote.
‘Morning and evening here – I’m surprised most of you guys only picked one or the other,’ another added.
