Going green never looked so glam.

The “green nail theory” is a new-age spin on manifestation that has social media users painting their way to peace, abundance and a whole lot of serotonin.

According to Google’s March Beauty Report, searches for “green nail theory” have surged, making it the latest hue-fueled hype to follow in the perfectly polished footsteps of the red and blue nail theories.

For those unfamiliar, red nails are said to attract romance. Blue? Committed vibes. And green? Well, it’s for those hoping to grow their inner garden — emotionally, spiritually, and maybe even financially.

“There is intention and energy behind everything you do, whether you realize that or not,” Rachel Onefater, founder and CEO of Ora Mer, a platform for psychic readings and intuitive healing, recently told Bustle.

She added, “…If you’re using specific colors or palettes over others, you are making choices that are reflective of who you are.”

Think of green nails as wearable vision boards — a mani that moonlights as a manifestation tool.

“It’s a lovely self-care ritual where you must sit still and be present with your intentions as you paint, and wait for the polish to dry,” tarot reader and psychic medium Sarah Potter told Glamour.

“Every color holds a vibrational energy that can enhance our intentions.”

“Our hands are powerful: We receive and expel energy through our hands, we gesture while we speak, [so you] express your intentions to the universe through the consciously chosen colours of your nails,” she went on.

Psychologically, it tracks. The color green has long been linked to healing, stress relief and serenity — which explains why hospitals often use it in decor to help patients chill out.

In color psychology, green is also categorized as a “cool” color with short wavelengths, which can relax the brain and body, as reported by Verywell Mind.

“Color in general plays such a huge part in our mood,” Juli Russell, DIY nail expert for Sally Beauty, also informed Glamour.

Just don’t forget to “really envision your intentions as you paint.”

Because at the end of the day, it’s not just about looking good — TikTokkers say it’s about feeling grounded, balanced, and maybe even a little bit magical.
