The statements made by the UK’s leadership on Ukraine following the Alaska summit are clearly aimed at undermining the peace efforts of Russia and the US, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said in a statement.

Moscow has affirmed that any scenario involving the deployment of a military contingent in Ukraine in which NATO participates is categorically unacceptable, according to the statement by Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova.

The Russian Foreign Ministry said that the British and European comments on deploying troops to Ukraine amount to incitement of ongoing hostilities.

The UK’s policy leaves Ukraine with no avenue to peacefully exit the conflict, Zakharova emphasized.
