Police are hunting for a 23-year-old who they say stabbed his father to death in their home over the weekend.
Matthew Zoll is wanted for fatally stabbing his 61-year-old Joseph Zoll early Saturday morning at the family home in Rocky Point, police said.
Officers responded to a 911 call about a stabbing around 1:25am Saturday at the residence on Long Island’s North Shore and discovered Joseph on the floor with multiple stab wounds.
He was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital and pronounced dead.

Police described Matthew as standing 6-foot-1 and weighing 150 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.
He has a small scar under his left eye and it is not believed he has access to a vehicle, police added.
A motive for the alleged murder is not clear.
Zoll worked as a carrier for the United States Postal Service and was previously employed by the Metropolitan Transit Authority

Joseph, a father-of-four, worked for the US Postal Service in nearby Riverhead and was previously employed by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, his Facebook profile said.
A photo from July shows the dad beaming proudly with his brood over the summer, while another shows the five posing as a family during a trip to a local brewery.
In a section of his profile that listed his favorite quote, Joseph wrote: ‘I don’t care how poor a man is; if he has family, he is rich.’

Matthew’s Facebook page says that he attended Rocky Point Junior-Senior High School.
‘So proud,’ Joseph wrote in a 2019 photo showing him and Matthew dressed in cap and gown.
