A gala dinner was held at the Royal Palace in Oslo on Tuesday to mark the state visit of Iceland’s President Halla Tómasdóttir and her husband Björn Skúlason.

The King and Queen hosted the event, joined by the Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit, Princess Ingrid Alexandra and Princess Astrid, Mrs Ferner.

It marks the first time 21-year-old Princess Ingrid has officially taken part in a state visit programme. She previously accompanied her parents on an official visit to Iceland in 2004, aged just five months.

The Great Dining Hall was prepared for 196 guests, including representatives from Norway’s official institutions, as well as figures from Norwegian and Icelandic business, society, and cultural life.
