A vigilante bystander chucked a brick at a Mercedes to stop the teen behind the wheel from making a getaway following a crash that left a man seriously injured on Long Island this week, police said.

Marianne Mkrtchian, 18, was driving the 2023 Mercedes Benz C30 on the residential block of Skidmore Road near Lloyd Avenue in North Babylon around 6 p.m. Tuesday when she slammed into a utility pole, causing it to snap and fall, Suffolk County Police said.

When a 54-year-old man sitting in a parked car nearby stepped out to see if Mkrtchian was OK, the reckless motorist put her ride in reverse, backed up and struck him — pinning him against his vehicle, cops said.

Mkrtchian then put her car in drive and tried to get away, according to cops.

That’s when a man who had witnessed the mayhem picked up a brick and threw it at the Mercedes, shattering the windshield, authorities said.

The blow stopped the fleeing teen driver in her tracks — and she got out of the car, police said.

Patrol officers arrived and placed her under arrest, cops said.

Mkrtchian, of North Bellmore, was charged with leaving the scene of an accident involving serious physical injury, police said.

She will be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip at a later date.

The victim, of North Babylon, suffered serious injuries and was taken to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip for treatment, cops said.

The brick-thrower was not charged by Suffolk County Police, authorities said.
