Two people have survived a small plane crash on a golf course in Denver, with one sustaining no injuries.
On Wednesday, Sept. 11, the South Metro Fire Rescue shared in a post on X (formerly known as Twitter) that «two parties» in a small plane had walked away without life-threatening injuries after the aircraft crashed on the Meridian Golf Course.
“Both parties walked away and are being evaluated by fire medics with minor injuries. @dcsheriff and @FlyCentennial are on scene and the incident is under control,» officials wrote alongside photos of the crash and the plane upside down on the course.
The incident happened shortly after the plane — identified as a Cessna 172 — had taken off from the runway of Centennial Airport.
South Metro Fire Rescue went on to share in a final update that the person who received minor injuries did not want to be taken to the hospital.
“Final Update: Cessna 172 had just departed runway 17R @FlyCentennial crashing on the 7th tee box at Meridian Golf Course, both parties on board walked away, one person with minor injuries refused transport, one person with no injuries,” they wrote, adding that the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will be investigating the incident.

Earlier on Wednesday, South Metro Fire Rescue announced that they were responding to an emergency following the crash.
“SMFR is responding to an aircraft emergency on Meridian Golf Course in unincorporated Douglas County,” they wrote at the time. “Initial reports stating the aircraft crashed and is currently upside down.”
