A 33-year-old man was stabbed to death late Sunday just steps from his Queens home – where his mom found him bleeding out, according to cops and law enforcement sources.
Jose Scott was knifed multiple times all over his body in front of an auto repair shop on Merrick Boulevard near 221st Street in Laurelton – less than 60 feet from his home – around 9:45 p.m., authorities and sources said.
Scott’s mother horrifyingly found her son’s bloodied body on the sidewalk and called the police, the sources said.
He was rushed to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries, cops said.
The motive for the slaying was not immediately known.
Investigators were reviewing photos and working to identify a suspect by Monday afternoon, the sources said.
The fatal stabbing occurred in the confines of the NYPD’s 116th Precinct, where four murders have been reported so far this year.
The 116th Precinct station house opened in December of 2024 – marking the first entirely new NYPD command established in over 10 years.
No murders were reported in the precinct’s confines in 2025, according to department data. But overall felony crime is down by about 12 percent this year in the precinct’s confines, the statistics show.
