Dakota Johnson selling iconic Hollywood home that sparked viral ‘I love limes’ meme

Dakota Johnson has quietly listed her 3,210-square-foot, historic Hollywood Hills home for $6 million, Page Six Hollywood has exclusively learned — and boy is it a stunner.

Situated above the Chateau Marmont on Marmont Avenue, the 3-bedroom, 3-bath home, nestled into the hillside, is a classic example of California Modernism.

Architect Carl Maston originally built it in 1947 for his family. In design circles, it became known as the Maston Residence for its mix of poured concrete, wood-framed glass walls and open beamed ceilings. Maston graduated from the University of Southern California and designed several prominent structures across Southern California during his career, including Cal Poly’s Pomona College of Environmental Design. (Making Maston even more of a legend is that his second wife, Edith Carissimi, ran Musso & Frank Grill for decades.)

Johnson bought the home in 2016 for $3.55 million, and its previous owner was TV mega-producer Ryan Murphy.

In 2020 Johnson opened the home’s doors to Architectural Digest, and the full video tour treatment unwittingly became a meme. While fielding questions from AD, she gestured towards a bowl of limes on a kitchen counter and told the camera: “I love limes… I love them so much and I like to present them like this in my house.” (She charmingly copped to fudging her love of limes during a subsequent appearance on Jimmy Fallon’s “The Tonight Show,” even admitting she later learned she was allergic to the things. And the star made fun of the whole thing in a 2024 promo for “SNL.”)

The property includes a detached garage, an office/den, a pool and a spa, all situated on a nearly 11,000-square-foot lot. We hear she has another abode.

According to Zillow’s online housing market report, the average Hollywood Hills home costs around $1,958,967, down 2.5% over the past year and homes typically stay on the market for about 58 days. Johnson is currently shooting in Rome, Italy. Ruby Fay of MMUO and Engel & Völkers is handling the listing. (The infamous bowl of limes is not included.)
