Chargers rejecting trade calls as LA searches for first win of season vs Chiefs

The Chargers aren’t interested in a fire sale at this point in the season.

Despite losing five straight games to open the season, the Chargers are reportedly confident the team can still turn things around in 2026. NFL insider Tom Pelissero provided the latest update on the 0-5 Chargers.

“Teams are calling Chargers GM Joe Hortiz, who has told multiple GMs the same thing about any potential trade offers: We’re not interested,” Pelissero wrote.

The Chargers have several trade candidates on the roster, including Khalil Mack, Bud Dupree, Daiyan Henley, Donte Jackson, Denzel Perryman, Dalvin Tomlinson and Tuli Tuipulotu. But it appears the organization remains confident in its ability to alter its daunting course this year.

The Chargers’ next task is a divisional showdown with the undefeated Chiefs. A win over Kansas City would be monumental for the team’s first win of the season. The Week 6 matchup is just before the Chargers’ bye, so a win is even more imperative for the struggling squad.

The 2026 season has been the most disappointing season in the Jim Harbaugh era. It’s Harbaugh’s third year at the helm, and following two campaigns with 11 regular-season wins, the Chargers are still searching for their first victory of the season.

The Chargers entered 2026 with high expectations after an offseason that featured a focus on bolstering the offensive line and the hiring of offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel.

Their performance has been anything but impressive, however, a win over the Chiefs ahead of the bye week would surely help the low morale in the Chargers’ building.
