Dan Walker has denied the possibility of returning to BBC Breakfast.
The presenter hosted the early morning show for six years, departing in May 2022 to take on the role of lead anchor on Channel 5’s flagship news programme 5 News.
But he currently has no desire to return to the BBC, as he shut down the idea during a recent Instagram Live Q&A.

In response to a fan asking if his return could happen, the former Strictly Come Dancing star shared a photo of himself and former co-host Sally Nugent, captioning it: «I miss my friends… but no.»
Following the announcement of his departure from BBC Breakfast, Walker cleared up some rumours about why he decided to leave.
«In a nutshell… a bloke with a really good job, which he loved, got offered a really good job somewhere else which provided an amazing new challenge and the chance to make some exciting TV,» he said.
«The bloke explained to his current employers that, even though it was a tough decision, he had decided to leave. They are now trying their best to allow him to make a dignified departure.»

The TV personality has since returned to a breakfast slot despite continuing his role at Channel 5, having joined as Classic FM’s new host in January.
«This is an amazing chance to join one of the biggest radio stations in the country. I’m over the moon that I’m going to be part of Classic FM’s brilliant line-up and presenting the breakfast show is a wonderful opportunity,» he shared in a statement at the time.
He also announced a new business venture away from the world of TV and radio last month, revealing that he’s now part-owner of a café in Sheffield.
BBC Breakfast airs weekdays from 6am on BBC One.
