Dutton Ranch Episode 6 Casts Marlon Young As Zane Nash

by markoflorentino@icloud.com

We may be six episodes into Dutton Ranch, but the Yellowstone spin-off is still introducing exciting new characters.

We loved (and lost) Dwight White, played by Ray McKinnon. And in Episode 6, “A Cowboy Saint,” we meet another fresh face. This time, he’s in a fancy office rather than on a ranch, but he’s still got a special place in his heart for anything cowboy-related.

Dutton Ranch Episode 6 spoilers ahead.

Dutton Ranch‘s eventfull Episode 6 features another jaw-dropping death, ends with a concerning Yellowstone callback, and more. But if you’re here, you want to know more about Beth (Kelly Reilly) and Beulah (Annette Bening) teaming up and flying to take a crucial 10 Petal business meeting with a man named Zane Nash (Marlon Young).

So who is Zane Nash on Dutton Ranch? And what do we know about Marlon Young, the actor who plays Zane on Dutton Ranch? Here’s everything we know about the spin-off’s new character so far, as well as Young’s impressive career.

Who Is Zane Nash On Dutton Ranch?

Before we meet Zane Nash, research queen Beth Dutton informs Beulah that he was born and raised on the South Side of Chicago, started bussing tables at 15, built his empire by 30 without inheriting a penny, and didn’t go to college. “Zane sees what most people don’t,” Beth concluded. But so does she, which is why the back and forth in their meeting was so captivating.

Beth kicked things off by telling Zane why sourcing his kitchens from all over the West and relying on middlemen made for bad business, and how a license with 10 Petal steals could “cut all that bullshit out” while saving him money. But when Zane assured her deals like this walk into his office on the regular and asked why he should take hers, Beth knew she had to think like a Dutton.

“The people who dine in your restaurants, they don’t pay top dollar just for a steak, right? They want a story, they want an experience. We can give them that a story, an authentic cowboy story. The 10 Petal, it is unlike any other,” she explained. When Zane marveled over having a Dutton sitting across his desk and asked Beth about her legendary father, she instantly knew she couldn’t take the bait. Rather than reminisce on the Yellowstone’s success, she appealed to his love of old Westerns, cowboys, and outlaws by selling him a new, modern-day story — with help from Beulah and her extensive Jackson history knowledge.

“The Yellowstone will be written about in the history books, but the 10 Petal and the Jacksons, they’re still at it. 190 years they have been ranching,” Beth began. And by the time Zane got a taste of the new tales, he said, “John Ford couldn’t dream that up!”

Before the scene concluded, Beth threatened to walk if Zane couldn’t see the vast value in a deal with the 10 Petal, but offered him “an opportunity to work with two of the greatest ranching families in this country’s history.” Beth and Beulah’s celebratory drinks at the end of the episode confirm they sealed the deal, so we can’t wait to see what’s next for the ranching icons and Zane Nash.
