Mets fans have had tonight’s game circled on the calendar for a long time.
The Baltimore Orioles are in town for a three-game series, marking former Met Pete Alonso’s first time back at Citi Field since signing with the Orioles in free agency.
During his 933-game tenure with the Mets, Alonso won NL Rookie of the Year in 2019, became a cornerstone of the offense and broke the franchise home run record in August 2025 with his 264th. The six-time All Star returns to Citi Field tonight just one home run away from his 300th career homer after another 35 home run season.
