It’s safe to say John Harbaugh was fired up about that win.
The Giants head coach was captured by the Fox broadcast jumping up and down and hugging Devin Singletary so exuberantly that Harbaugh and running back fell to the ground.
The two were quickly surrounded by more players and coaches celebrating the 27-21 overtime victory over the Texans at Reliant Stadium, as the team heads into its bye week on a positive note.
Singletary and Harbaugh got up and continued the celebration after the Giants moved to 4-2-1 in Harbaugh’s first season as head coach of the team.
The Giants’ three running backs — Singletary, Cam Skattebo and Tyrone Tracy Jr. — then united to celebrate together after the trio combined for 180 of the team’s 188 yards on the ground.
“I got tackled on the field. I’m a little disappointed in my balance,” Harbaugh told reporters after the game with a smile on his face, also mentioning there had been some dancing in the locker room.
It was Skattebo’s 42-yard run that put the Giants on the Texans’ 30-yard line in their first possession of overtime.
On the very next play, Singletary delivered the dagger after busting through an open hole along the line and escaping several tackles along the way to reach the end zone.
Harbaugh called the response from the running back group “the story” after he challenged them following the loss to New Orleans last weekend.
“To me, that’s the point. It tells you who they are,” the Giants coach said. “You might have thought before the game, we’re going to find out about our guys. We’re going to find out who they are, and we did. And you saw it. They took the bull by the horns and they got the job done.”
