Could Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos conquer The Traitors castle? The Live with Kelly and Mark co-hosts think they can.
On Monday’s episode, Ripa and Consuelos welcomed David Tennant, who not only shared that he is a fan of the hit reality competition show, but revealed that “a very good friend” of his is “currently in the castle” competing on the celebrity version of The Traitors UK. Consuelos asked Tennant if he’s gotten any “reports” from his friend, which the Rivals star denied.
“You’re not allowed, because they take his phone away,” Tennant explained. “So he doesn’t know anything. He gets to talk to his family for, like, 10 minutes every morning, but somebody’s in the room.”
Consuelos quipped, “It’s like jail.”
Tennant echoed, “Yes, exactly like jail.”
Nonetheless, Ripa felt that her and Consuelos could handle it, and that they could win it all.
“You and I could win Traitors in three seconds,” she told Consuelos, who immediately agreed.
“I think so,” Consuelos said. “We’re diabolical.”
Ripa told Tennant that her and her husband and co-host are “very good” at games like Wolves and Villagers and Mafia.
Tennant posited, “But what they would do is one of you would be a Traitor, and one of you would be a Faithful.”
However, Ripa claimed that Consuelos “would be the Traitor and he would murder [her].”
Tennant said, “Straight away?”
Ripa insisted that she would be “the first person” Consuelos would murder, as Consuelos insisted that the move would be “to throw off the scent.” After Tennant asked how she “would feel” about Consuelos’ potential betrayal and if she would “understand” it, Ripa said she “would expect it.”
“I would expect nothing less than him to murder me first,” she teased.
As for whether Tennant would compete on The Traitors, the actor claimed he “would be terrible at it.”
“I’m not great at duplicity,” he argued.
While Consuelos refuted that Tennant plays “characters that are so duplicitous,” Tennant teased that’s only because the lines are written down for him. While Ripa told Tennant that he “could act duplicitous,” Tennant said he would “feel too bad.”
Ripa replied, “That would be my favorite part. ‘I’m murdering Mark! Because he probably deserves it.’”
