Trader Joe’s fans, rejoice: the beloved grocery chain is opening a dozen new stores across 10 states.
The first of the bunch just opened in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
More are on the way in California, Louisiana, New Jersey, New York, Massachusetts, Colorado, Pennsylvania, Oklahoma, and South Carolina. Washington, Maryland, and D.C. are also getting new locations soon.
The expansion comes a year after Trader Joe’s opened 34 stores across the U.S.
The chain, known for its quirky branding and private-label products, now operates more than 600 locations nationwide.
Its snack selection has become such a hit with shoppers that the store even holds annual Consumer Choice Awards to let fans vote for their favorites.
For 2025, the Chili & Lime Flavored Rolled Corn Tortilla Chips were the number one overall product for the third year in a row.
The latest openings are already causing a stir in local communities.

In Murfreesboro, more than 500 excited shoppers attended the grand opening of Tennessee’s newest Trader Joe’s.
‘Trader Joe’s is one of the really good stores. It has a lot of organic stuff and a lot of cheeses and stuff like that, that other stores don’t have,’ shopper Tracey Thomas told News 2.
With this new location, Tennessee is now the home of seven Trader Joe’s grocery stores.
‘Over the last month that we’ve been here at the store trying to get it ready, folks have been stopping by,’ said general manager Jeff Carter.
‘Every time we go out to lunch, people are just so excited and welcoming us to the area.’
Hundreds of shoppers also attended the grand opening of a Trader Joe’s in Seattle, Washington, today.
‘The prices and deals are always good, and also all their fun items that they come out with,’ shopper Josh Sheng told The Seattle Times.
Trader Joe’s fan Stephanie Huang was also eager to enter the new Seattle store to snag a fan-favorite mini tote bag.

The grocery store chain’s mini tote bags became a must-have item in the eyes of shoppers, especially those who are on TikTok.
The sought after bags made customers of all ages lineup before the store open to buy the product that cost between $3 and $5.
Trader Joe’s went on to offer its customers insulated tote bags and stand-up collapsible tote bags for affordable prices.
Like the viral product, those bags made customers want to wait in long lines to snag a tote before selling out.
The bags have popped up on resale websites like Facebook Marketplace and eBay following the social media mayhem.
However, unlike stores, customers are selling the totes for hundreds to thousands of dollars, which Trader Joe’s insisted was not their fault.
‘This is done without our approval or authorization and outside the controls of our quality-minded supply chain,’ they said in a statement.
‘To be clear, we neither condone nor support the reselling of our products and do all we can to stop the practice.’
