These are the best Labor Day vacuum deals from Dyson, Shark, iRobot and more

A new vacuum can make a huge impact on your home. If you’ve still got that old Hoover you got as a wedding gift, it’s time to upgrade. And if you’ve been looking for a reason to splurge on a robot vacuum, we found 179 (because that’s how much a top-selling Roomba costs at Amazon for Labor Day).

We combed through all the best Labor Day deals at Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, and QVC to find the top savings on cordless, standing, and robot vacuums. Here are the best models on sale from Dyson, Roomba, Shark, and more.

Dyson

Dyson vacuums often go on sale during major holidays like Labor Day. You likely won’t see savings this steep until Black Friday, so we recommend picking this one up now before those prices creep back up. The Dyson V8 is a powerhouse of a vacuum; it’s cordless and features a detachable handle that acts as a second, smaller vacuum perfect for corners or places that are harder to reach with a floor vacuum.

Right now, the Dyson V8 is $350, or $110 off its normal price. That’s expensive for a vacuum, but for an appliance you’re using at least once a week (hopefully), it’s well worth the splurge.

If you prefer a more conventional upright vacuum, Dyson has also marked down its reviewer-favorite Ball Animal 3, which features a large ball at its base that makes pivoting a breeze on any surface. During Labor Day, it’s a whopping $100 off, bringing it down just shy of $300.

The Dyson Ball Animal 3 upright comes with two accessories: a combination tool to hit hard-to-reach areas and a stair tool for more effective cleaning. Amazon shoppers note that it works beautifully on all floor types, from thick carpets to hardwood floors.

iRobot

There’s a reason iRobot has the robot vacuum market cornered—they’re reliable and effective robot vacuums that are easy to set up and exciting to use. A good Roomba can retail for upwards of $700, but this basic model is only $180 during Labor Day. It connects to your smart phone so you can control its path with the push of a button. It can easily navigate under furniture and around corners so you don’t have to worry about missed spots.

Roombas come with a learning curve, but the iRobot customer service team is top-notch if you run into any issues. I’ve been covering robot vacuums for about five years now and iRobot remains the best company you can shop from.

Shark

When a product garners more than 100,000 Amazon reviews, you know you’ve stumbled onto something special. This Shark Navigator vacuum holds an impressive 4.4-star rating after more than 105,000 reviews, and during Labor Day, it’s $40 off (only $160). It’s made with pet owners in mind, so if you’re often vacuuming pet dander, this model may be your saving grace.

The Shark Navigator comes with a pet power brush specifically designed to tackle those roaming tufts of fur and litter crystals embedded in your carpet. The crevice tool is ideal for stairs, corners, and even couches. I own two cats and a version of the Shark Navigator—there’s no other upright vacuum I’d recommend more strongly for cat owners.

eufy

While iRobot makes incredible robot vacuums, Eufy is the best brand to shop if you’re on a budget. The Eufy 11S Max is a wonderful option that often goes on sale during major events (the Slim 11S does too—same vacuum, just a bit thinner). Right now, it’s discounted at one of the best prices I’ve ever seen, down to just $140 (or $110 off).

As with any robot vacuum, there’s a learning curve—but the Eufy works like a charm once you’ve got it set up properly. The Max is a bit larger than its sister model, the Slim 11S, but it can hold a greater amount of debris, making it a great option for larger homes or those with shedding pets.

An upright vacuum is what you picture when you think of a vacuum—it’s got a large basin for collecting dust and a small head that you can drive around your floors. You can get a cheap model around $50 or a luxury one around $800, but there are a lot of stellar options in between. If you’re a pet owner, opt for a model that’s specifically designed to tackle fur and litter. If you’ve got little ones who run around, look for one that can tackle Cheerios or other small snacks that inevitably make their way onto your floors.

A cordless vacuum is a great option if you live in a small space like an apartment or want a vacuum for quick daily use. It can reach tall areas with ease, as it tends to be more lightweight than a standard upright option.

  • Shark IZ682H Vertex Pro Lightweight Cordless Stick Vacuum

  • Shark HZ2002 Vertex Ultralight Corded Stick

  • Dyson V15 Detect Cordfree Vacuum

Robot vacuums work well for those who want to set-and-forget their vacuum. They can work in the background and only vacuum areas you’ve programmed in the app. There’s a learning curve to robot vacuums, however. You need to be able to download the app to set up your space, as well as learn how to empty the vacuum (or its cleaning tower, if you opt for a model that comes with one). These are great vacuums for people who love smart gadgets.
