We’ve seen Helen Mirren wearing Cariuma’s Oca Lows around the world, most notably sporting the cool and comfy kicks (in fetching green) at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival. And she’s not the only celebrity fan — Robert Downey Jr., Jon Hamm and Brooke Shields have been spotted in the trendy sneakers as well. Cariuma is known for creating classic styles to match almost any outfit, setting off adorable maxi dresses and pairing perfectly with jeans and a crisp white tee. Cariuma’s latest offering, its Uba White Premium Leather Sneakers, is an elevated take on ’90s skateboarding and basketball styles, updating the cool-kid looks of yesteryear with a timeless, on-trend design.

The Ubas have multiple layers of cushioning for all-day comfort, including a flexible outsole and an insole made of sustainable cork and bio-based foam (derived from mamona oil) that stays true to the brand’s emphasis on «crafting sneakers with a green conscience.» So, not only do they look great, but they’re great for the planet too. The uppers are made from premium leather and suede sourced from certified Gold Rated tanneries, meaning that the materials were obtained from facilities that use sustainable practices, per the Leather Working Group.

The thoughtfulness of Cariuma’s process doesn’t end there: The lining, laces, threads and labels of the Ubas are made from recycled and sustainable materials, the rubber soles are made with natural, ethically «tapped» rubber, and each pair of sneakers is manufactured in ethical factories, shipped using carbon-neutral containers and delivered in recycled packaging. Plus, for every pair you buy, the company will plant two trees.

Sustainable, stylish and celebrity-approved — Cariuma Uba White Premium Leather Sneakers are the total package. Bring home a pair in White Smoke/Ice or White/Metallic, or White/Leopard Print if you want a little extra flair.
