Joy Behar Calls Marjorie Taylor Greene “My Best Friend” On ‘The View’ While Gloating About Virginia Redistricting: “It’s Kind Of Heartwarming, Isn’t It?”

Joy Behar gave her new friend Marjorie Taylor Greene another surprising shoutout on The View, just days after her co-hosts criticized her for readily accepting Greene after she seemingly rescinded her support of President Trump.

Behar referenced the former congresswoman during the April 22 broadcast as the ladies of The View were discussing the recent news that Virginia voters approved a measure that would redraw the districts map, giving Democrats an edge over Republicans ahead of the midterm elections.

“It’s fun to watch the democrats find their testicularity,” Behar joked, before adding, “And with some of the Republicans turning on Trump, also.”

She then gave Greene a special shoutout when she shared one of Greene’s recent social media posts about the news. “My best friend Marjorie Taylor Greene, she wrote on X, ‘A once red state is turning into one of the bluest states because people don’t want to support Republicans now.’ It’s kind of heartwarming, isn’t it?”

Behar’s comment about Greene earned a laugh from Sunny Hostin, who recently called Behar out for being “so welcoming” of Greene after the former Georgia congresswoman began to publicly criticize Trump.

During the April 15 broadcast, Sara Haines pointed out that Greene “still believes the election was stolen” and “still dances in circles of antisemitism, mingles with people like Nick Fuentes, goes on Alex Jones’ podcast.”

“Just because she agrees, ‘Oh, I don’t like Trump,’ I’m not like, ‘Ok, great, welcome aboard,’” Haines said, prompting Behar to ask, “So what should you do? Reject her altogether?”

“Yes, we should reject her altogether. I’m sorry, Joy,” Hostin responded. She later asked Behar, “Why are you so welcoming, Joy?”

“I don’t hold grudges. If they want to come over to my side, I’m taking them,” Behar responded.

After Behar pointed out that she’s “not going on vacation with her,” Hostin stated, “I just think that if you voted for Donald Trump three times, if you voted for him this last election when we told you what was going to happen. Project 2025? 53% of those initiatives have been implemented. This country is on fire. People are being killed in the streets. People are unhoused. People can’t afford anything.”

This was a remarkable change of tune for Behar as she previously told her co-hosts they “give her too much credit.”

At the time, she called Greene an “ambitious” politician and speculated that she was likely preparing to “run for something else.”

“I’m happy to have her on our side now,” Behar concluded, to which Goldberg corrected. “I don’t know if she’s on our side. Something woke her up and I’m happy it did.”

The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
