Kim Kardashian has opened up about the “big burden” of co-parenting with ex-husband Kanye West, admitting she’ll “always worry” about the rapper despite their rocky relationship.
The reality star, 46, got candid about their complicated dynamic in “Citizen Kim: The Woman Who Created the Future,” an authorized biography by journalist Jonathan Van Meter, who interviewed Kardashian and those close to her between 2018 and 2026.
“Oh, I worry about [Kanye] all day. All the time. That’s the father of my kids, I’ll never not worry about him,” she said in the book, according to Us Weekly.
“And that’s a big burden of having kids with someone who you don’t necessarily get along with. My kids would never know that,” she added.
The SKIMS founder was married to the “Stronger” star, 49, from 2014 until their divorce was finalized in 2022. They share North, 13, Saint, 10, Chicago, 8, and Psalm, 7.
Despite their past conflicts, Kardashian said the former couple have managed to keep co-parenting relatively peaceful.
“It’s been pretty smooth for a while. I guess because we don’t talk that much. But when we see each other, we give each other a hug,” she said.
Kardashian admitted she tries to move past “all the negative things that happened” while maintaining boundaries. She also stressed that she wants her children to have a strong relationship with their father.
“I want them to think their dad is the greatest,” she said.
The mom of four revealed that she remains close to West’s family and maintains an open-door policy for the rapper, even inviting him to spend time at her home.
“Anytime you’re in town, come for dinner with us, see the kids as much as you want, take them out, come over and hang out. That’s their family. So I encourage the relationship with their dad so much,” she said.
Kardashian also offered West the chance to have dinner at his children’s home or stay overnight, even if she had to leave to make him comfortable.
“Do you want to come to dinner? I’ll leave the house. Come and have dinner with the kids in their house so that they can feel comfy. Sleep over for a few nights?”
The former couple even spent Christmas together last year, as Kardashian invited West to stay overnight on Christmas Eve and bring his wife, Bianca Censori.
“Last Christmas, I said, ‘Sleep over on Christmas Eve. Bring your girlfriend.’ I’m easy! ‘Let’s all do Christmas together,’” she recalled.
Kardashian said she plans to extend the same invitation this holiday season.
“And I’ll recommend it again this year. I will sweep everything under the rug, all the horrible things he has said about me, so that the kids can see their father,” she said.
The reality star admitted she remains concerned about West’s well-being, saying he “always seems to pick himself up,” but that watching him struggle makes her sad.
“And I don’t think it’s going to get better. I pray it does. For my kids,” she said.
Kardashian added that she communicates with West through Censori and the rapper’s manager.
West addressed his bipolar disorder diagnosis and apologized for his antisemitic comments in a Wall Street Journal advertisement in January.
Earlier this month, Kardashian also revealed that she employs five nannies to help care for her four children.
